SDE (before Odense Technical College) offers technical education programmes and programmes in trade skills at several levels from the upper secondary level over vocational and college levels to adult education. In the spring of 2003 the College was awarded the University Charter by the European Commission.

The Department of Innovation and Internationalisation has as its special task to ensure that the international perspective is deeply rooted in all educational programs at SDE.  Furthermore it is the task of the department to bring SDE into a position in which the special knowledge and expertise, which have been accumulated in this institution over the years, will not only benefit the students, but also support the economic and social developments at regional, national and international levels.
